“Outback Dreaming” inspired by our latest trip back to Broken Hill - reminded me of the years spent living in outback communities Lightning Ridge, Broken Hill and Dareton. The smell of the red dirt, the dust storms and the native plants thriving in extreme heat, cold winters and with hardly a drop of rain. The latest trip witnessing yet another dust storm, finally seeing the flowing Darling River through Wilcannia and the Menindee Lake bursting with waters. This art piece depicts the waterholes, the thriving plants, dust storms and most importantly the close knit community spirit in these outback towns.
